Have you tried our 3D printer yet? The library has a new Dremel 3D45 printer that’s available to use on the 2nd floor. 3D printers make objects using thin layers of plastic filament and can make a range of objects like toys, keychains, planters, desk organizers, light fixtures – the possibilities are endless! Anyone interested in printing should review the library’s policy and then submit a printing request form with the design files. There is a $2 fee for each item printed, which can be paid in person or added as a charge to a library card. Patrons are welcome to make their own designs or use a file from websites like thingiverse.com.

If you’re curious about how it all works, we recommend attending one of our quarterly 3D printing programs for a good introduction. Our next workshop will be making holiday magnets for stocking stuffers in November, so keep an eye out for the registration info.
