FDL joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind parents, caregivers, and students that a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. Libraries offer free and fun educational resources and activities for all ages that bring families and communities together, and studies have shown that early literacy leads to success in the classroom and beyond.
