Program Description
Event Details
Learn about Chinese culture and language with Mengmeng, teacher and principal of the Peoria Chinese Language School. She will start by reading popular Chinese storybooks, then students will learn Chinese games and crafts and try authentic Chinese food.
Class Two: Basic Chinese Characters
We will read a book about Chinese characters, then learn four ways of forming Chinese characters. We will practice writing twelve Chinese characters with pens, practice writing calligraphy with paint brushes, and carve a seal stamp with our Chinese names on them. We’ll also learn how to make wontons!
Class Three: Conversational Chinese Dialogue on May 4th
Participants do not need to attend all classes.
