Plat books are collections of maps that show the division of an area into streets, parks, and other features.
Plat books are used to illustrate the location of property boundaries, label major landowners, and show acreage and local landmarks.

Collection Protection
Due to irreplaceable value of the Local History Collection, use is restricted. Patrons may use two items from the Local History Collection at one time. Access requires a photo ID or a library card which will be kept at the reference desk with the items’ card until the items are returned. When materials are requested, staff will retrieve them from the Local History Collection. These materials must remain on the second floor while being used. While items from the local history collection may not be checked out, the library has a Scan Station and photocopier available to make physical and digital copies. To prevent damage, scissors or other cutting utensils may not be present when using historical documents or books. Please be very careful with pen and pencils when looking at items from the Historical Collection. No food or drink is allowed when using items.
