Children’s Space Policy

Last Updated Date

Fondulac District Library (Library) is committed to providing an inviting and safe space for children to engage in individual and group activities. The social nature and unique characteristics of this age group require a separate space designed for their need. The children’s area of the Library is reserved for children from birth through thirteen (13), their parents/guardians, and adults interested in children’s literature.

Out of concern for the safety of young patrons, adults unaccompanied by a child may enter the Children’s Area to obtain books and other materials but it is requested that they move to an adult reading area once their selection has been made. Extended browsing by unaccompanied adults is not encouraged and library staff may request adult patrons to move to the library’s adult reading area at their discretion.
