Kids' Books with a "Dog's Eye View"

All books make us look at the world through someone else's eyes, but here are two recent books written from the point of view of a dog!

The Eyes & The Impossible by Dave Eggers (Newbery Award 2024)

A Newberry Award winner written from the point of view of a dog, Johannes.  He lives in the park where he is the ‘Eyes’ – observing all around him.  I love the friendships and cooperation amongst the animals and how they look at the human world around them.

In Mr. Whiskers and the Shenanigan Sisters by Wendelin Van Draanen, the mystery unfolds from the perspective of Mr. Whiskers. Can he sniff out the clues to help the Misty and Zelda find their father?  The dog's nose knows the answer!  Check out this cute middle-grade mystery.
